So, if you didn’t read my post about UtopYa 2014 from a few weeks back then you missed my excitement. It was AMAZING! I did my best to describe just how amazing it was but I’m pretty sure that I fell short. There just aren’t strong enough words in the dictionary.
Anyway, I’m still riding that high just a little and now I’m patiently waiting for my next con to come around. Nothing happens around me, there are no signings, no book cons, no events that allow authors to connect with readers or blogger or anyone in the book community. The closest anything for me would be either Chicago or Detroit. NOTHING in Southwest Michigan.
That’s a problem. At least, I think it is. The good news is that I found a solution to that problem. My bestie, Author Casey Bond, and I have decided that we are going to put on one. A book con. Here. In Kalamazoo. And all of you are invited.
I’m excited! Overjoyed! Ecstatic! Anxious!
So, SAVE THE DATE…
October 9-11, 2015
Our location (hopefully) will be the Radisson Plaza Hotel. We are currently working out the details and the costs but the dates for the event are set and, unless something cray-cray pops up, so is the location. Here are just a few of the pic I took the other day. They are of the lobby because I was too excited and forgot to take pics of the rooms.
We’ve set up a Facebook page if you would like to pop over and give it a like HERE. We’ll update it as information comes in. Right now, until the website is up and running, it will be the best place to keep yourself up to date on what’s happening.
If you are an author, blogger, model, swag maker, editor, cover designer, etc… We have set up an interest form. We are planning on offering spots from the interest form FIRST and then opening it up to others once we determine the total number of tables available. We are thinking that we will have about 65 tables if we stick with the location we have in mind.
So… for now, that’s all the information that I have BUT I should have pricing and such ready to announce by the beginning of August. Casey and I should have the proposal from the Radisson back sometime next week. Until then… cuddle up with a good book and read on!
