Happy Easter Sunday! I hope everyone was able to spend time with their families and loved ones today.

Sunday is normally a day I write all day but not today. Not because it’s Easter. Today is my grandma’s birthday and although she’s no longer with us, I spend the day remembering the things she taught me and reflecting on the memories we made together. Born on April Fools Day, she wasn’t a funny woman, but she was the strongest woman I know. She was devoted mother and wife as well as a neo-natal nurse (she took care of the really sick babies). Her family was more important to her than anything else so on her birthday, I find it comforting to be around family.

She was also one of my biggest supporters when I decided to become an author. Her and my grandfather, may they both celebrate together in Heaven today. She would listen to me talk about my ideas, the storylines and give me feedback. She was an avid reader and although it’s been three years, her library of books remain in the home, untouched by anyone. We’ll donate them eventually but I don’t think any of us are ready just yet.

The one thing she always told me was to make sure I found a way to give back to my readers, as a thank you for supporting me and my dreams. It was one of the last conversations we had, actually, as she was helping me work through the storyline for Saving Bliss. It took me eighteen months to finish that book after she passed. I felt lost without her and I wasn’t ready to dive back in with those characters without her by my side.

So, in honor of my grandmother and in celebration of her birthday, Saving Bliss is on sale this month. From 4/9-4/15 you can snag it for only 99 cents. If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, you can read it at any time. It’s companion novella, Losing Chelsea, is also enrolled in KU.

If I’m a new-to-you author, Saving Bliss is a great place to start. I also have a number of books enrolled in Kindle Unlimited if you subscribe, including my most recent release, book 1 in the Rumors series.

Mark your calendars. April 9th will be here before you know it and you won’t want to miss the sale.

“This was such a compelling story!! I was in such suspense waiting to see what was happening, why Owen was there for Bliss and what his story really was. “ – Amazon Reviewer

I was hired to protect her. I was told to keep her safe, shadow her every move, and keep my eyes open at all times. He wouldn’t tell me from what, or whom. He wouldn’t even admit she was in danger. It turns out, she is. So am I. Now, I’m falling for her, and that changes everything. I need to find a way to keep her safe without compromising my heart.

I don’t need a babysitter or a bodyguard. I can take care of myself. If I had wanted a roommate I would have one, and it wouldn’t be him. He’s too… intriguing. Stubborn. Sexy. If I need protection from anyone it’s from him. He sees too much, knows too much, and the way he looks at me is causing the walls I’ve built around my heart to weaken. I need him to back off, but I want him closer.

Emerson & Ryder’s story is LIVE!!!  I’m so excited to share this series with you. I FLOVED writing these characters and the gossip that spread through the office. There’s humor, drama and a little bit of steam in this series that you won’t want to miss.

You can start the series TODAY for only #99cents AND you don’t have to wait long for the next book. For the complete release schedule, click HERE. To snag your copy of book 1, click HERE.

PS – Please leave a review after you’re finished. It’s the easiest way to support the authors you love.

2017 in review

So many amazing things happened in 2017 for me, and I hope for you too. Here are my highlights from 2017…

I had the opportunity to attend some great events this year. Four main events stand out for me: Roanoke Author Invasion, Once Upon a Book, Penned Con and Great Lakes Book Bash.

I’ll be attending Penned Con (September) again in 2018 and possibly Once Upon a Book (August).

New Releases

I was able to release THREE novels this year as well as FIVE novellas. WOW! I hadn’t really counted the number of books I’d released until now and seeing as how I released eight books in 2017, my goal for 2018 doesn’t seem as hard to achieve now.

Here’s a list of books I released this year in case you missed one.

Chasing Fate

Sticks & Stones

Losing Chelsea (book 2 in the Love & Loss duet)

Dear Maggie, Love Advice Series

Dear Maggie Love Advice Novellas (4 books)

As of this morning, the Love Advice series is now available to purchase as ONE e-book – all five parts. The price is still set to $2.99 and will remain that way until 1/29/18. After that, it will go up to $4.99. Snag it now and save a couple bucks!

Dear Maggie was reviewed by InD’Tale Magazine in December and received the coveted Crowned Heart along with a great review.

There are so many amazing readers that I had the opportunity to meet this year and even more I had the chance to catch up with at events. Meeting readers, whether they’ve read my books before or not, is my favorite part of this gig. It makes the hours spent in my office, plotting and planning, worth every second.

There is ONE reader in particular that I have been friends with for years that I FINALLY had the opportunity to meet this year and that person is Kandy G. She lives in the same state as I do and yet we hadn’t been able to connect until GLBB this year.

WOW! To say that I’ve been blown away by other authors this year is an understatement. The kindness within the Indie community is mind-blowing. From authors participating in my release events to those that share posts for sales and cover reveals, each author I’ve connected with this year has supported me and I’ll never be able to thank each one of them enough.

One author group, in particular, comes to mind when I think of thanking author – Alessandra Torre Inkers. Everyone in this group is helpful and supportive and I’m so happy I’m a part of it.

One of the highlights of this year in regards to fellow authors… I had the privilege of meeting both Jamie McGuire and Rachel Van Dyken at Penned Con. If you know me at all, you know I’m a HUGE fan of both these ladies. Here’s a pic of Rachel and I. (I’m the awkward looking one on the right.)

Personal Life

This past year I celebrated 12 years together with my husband and one year of being married. The honeymoon phase has long been over for us but we are still finding new ways to enjoy each other’s company. Speaking of honeymoons… we’re in the midst of planning ours. We put it off after the wedding and with eight books scheduled to release in 2018, we’re thinking January of 2019, possibly Hawaii! I’m stoked and he’s pretty much letting me make most of the decisions… for now.

That’s my year in review. I’ll make a separate post for what 2018 holds because there’s a lot about to happen and the new year is only 3 days away! If you’ve read this far, I’d love to hear the highlights of your year. Comment below if you’re willing to share.

The Crowned Heart!

was having a rough day today. Nothing seemed to be going right and if something could go wrong, it did. Then things took an amazing turn for the better.

Back in August, just after releasing Dear Maggie, I submitted a request with InD’Tale Magazine for an editorial review. Knowing these things take time, as many authors submit each month, I went about life and completely forgot about it.

Until today.

When my bestie sent me a text that turned my frown upside down.

After months of waiting and wondering, the December edition of InD’Tale Magazine was released and inside was their review of Dear Maggie. A GLOWING review at that!

4.5 stars AND the coveted Crowned Heart

If you’d like to check out this month’s issue or subscribe, pop over to their website. It’s one of two literary magazines that I truly enjoy reading.

“Like wildfire, rumors are easy to spread… and hard to extinguish.”

By the time they circle back to her, they’re difficult to ignore, making her attraction to her boss hard to deny. Everyone has an opinion and no one cares if the rumors are true. No one except Emerson.

And they all live happily ever after… or do they?

Straight Shooter

If you’ve read any of my books you know how much I LOVE my supporting characters, especially the best friend.  I put a lot into those characters. I pull from a variety of people I know and love. My personal bestie is always well represented in each character. I mean, she’s the greatest so why wouldn’t I include her in the characters I love so much?

Well, my #nano project this year is no exception. Here’s a little bit from Chloe’s snarky but smart and supportive bestie, Addison.

“You know I hate the unexpected, Addy.”
“I know, but you’re just going to have to roll with the punches this time. Love can’t be scripted. It’s always the unknown variable. Things might turn out great, they might turn out shitty. You can’t control what happens or how he reacts. All you can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst.”
Nodding, I down my entire glass of wine and head inside to grab another bottle from the cellar. If I can’t control what happens tomorrow, I’m going to at least control what happens tonight. Tonight I drink and force myself to forget about what lies ahead.
