So many amazing things happened in 2017 for me, and I hope for you too. Here are my highlights from 2017…
Events
I had the opportunity to attend some great events this year. Four main events stand out for me: Roanoke Author Invasion, Once Upon a Book, Penned Con and Great Lakes Book Bash.
I’ll be attending Penned Con (September) again in 2018 and possibly Once Upon a Book (August).
New Releases
I was able to release THREE novels this year as well as FIVE novellas. WOW! I hadn’t really counted the number of books I’d released until now and seeing as how I released eight books in 2017, my goal for 2018 doesn’t seem as hard to achieve now.
Here’s a list of books I released this year in case you missed one.
Losing Chelsea (book 2 in the Love & Loss duet)
Dear Maggie, Love Advice Series
Dear Maggie Love Advice Novellas (4 books)
As of this morning, the Love Advice series is now available to purchase as ONE e-book – all five parts. The price is still set to $2.99 and will remain that way until 1/29/18. After that, it will go up to $4.99. Snag it now and save a couple bucks!
Dear Maggie was reviewed by InD’Tale Magazine in December and received the coveted Crowned Heart along with a great review.
Readers
There are so many amazing readers that I had the opportunity to meet this year and even more I had the chance to catch up with at events. Meeting readers, whether they’ve read my books before or not, is my favorite part of this gig. It makes the hours spent in my office, plotting and planning, worth every second.
There is ONE reader in particular that I have been friends with for years that I FINALLY had the opportunity to meet this year and that person is Kandy G. She lives in the same state as I do and yet we hadn’t been able to connect until GLBB this year.
Authors
WOW! To say that I’ve been blown away by other authors this year is an understatement. The kindness within the Indie community is mind-blowing. From authors participating in my release events to those that share posts for sales and cover reveals, each author I’ve connected with this year has supported me and I’ll never be able to thank each one of them enough.
One author group, in particular, comes to mind when I think of thanking author – Alessandra Torre Inkers. Everyone in this group is helpful and supportive and I’m so happy I’m a part of it.
One of the highlights of this year in regards to fellow authors… I had the privilege of meeting both Jamie McGuire and Rachel Van Dyken at Penned Con. If you know me at all, you know I’m a HUGE fan of both these ladies. Here’s a pic of Rachel and I. (I’m the awkward looking one on the right.)
Personal Life
This past year I celebrated 12 years together with my husband and one year of being married. The honeymoon phase has long been over for us but we are still finding new ways to enjoy each other’s company. Speaking of honeymoons… we’re in the midst of planning ours. We put it off after the wedding and with eight books scheduled to release in 2018, we’re thinking January of 2019, possibly Hawaii! I’m stoked and he’s pretty much letting me make most of the decisions… for now.
That’s my year in review. I’ll make a separate post for what 2018 holds because there’s a lot about to happen and the new year is only 3 days away! If you’ve read this far, I’d love to hear the highlights of your year. Comment below if you’re willing to share.
